Sushi Making

This is how I make sushi!

I prepared a variety of ingredients I want in my sushi. It doesn't have to be exactly what the Japanese or Koreans eat. It's what you like in your sushi. Have your limits, because not all type of food goes well with seaweed and rice. However, suit yourself! :)

I had:
  • Cucumber
  • Hotdog (lol)
  • Tuna and onion
  • Onion
  • Carrot
  • Crab sticks
  • Smoked salmon
  • Wasabi
  • Mayonaise
  • Seaweed
  • Sushi roller

I can't explain better than the image. You will need the ready made bamboo thing I call the sushi maker...lolz. I messed up my first sushi! The seaweed was crumpled up because I held it too tight!

These are the best of all that I made, so now it's your turn! Have fun :)

Tips:
  1. Clingwrap your sushi maker (ready made bamboo sushi maker) as shown on right side of image 2 above. Why? It's cleaner and protects your sushi maker from being dirty.

  2. If you have trouble cutting your sushi, cling wrap it then cut.

  3. Use water to stick the remaining seaweed.

  4. Seaweed size should be according to the size of your sushi. If you want a small mini sushi roll, half of the prepared seaweed you buy from store is enough.

  5. Remaining cut out seaweed slice can be used as a holder (right side of image 2)

Red Back Spiderlings!!

Broodles's (Red Back Spider) baby spiderlings!!

I can't believe it! It's so cool to see so many baby venomous spiders and what's better is you see them eat each other up!

I'm so tired...long day today. Fell asleep in the state library, train, Adelaide University Garden.

Spider: Red Back VS Black Widow

Extra information:

"The notorious Black Widow Spider (Latrodectus sp) of the United States is a close relative of the Redback Spider (Latrodectus hasselti), and only differs in appearance by the absence of a red dorsal stripe." [Link]

"The black widow spider (Latrodectus spp.) is a spider notorious for its neurotoxic venom."

" The redback spider has a neurotoxic venom which is toxic to humans with bites causing severe pain"

[Wikipedia]

"Although the name 'black widow spider' is most commonly used to refer to the three North American species best known for their dark coloration, black hair and red hourglass pattern, occasionally it is applied to several other members of a the Latrodectus (widow spider) genus in which there are 31 recognized species including the Australian red-back, brown widow spider (sometimes called the gray widow), and the red widow spider."

Red Back Spider (also known as Black Widow)

Red Back Spider (similar to Black Widow)
feeding on Garden Orb Weaver that is larger than herself.

There were two garden orb weavers the size of my thumb forming a gigantic web at my garden.
I caught them in the two tiniest container (only my thumb could fit in) just nice to fit one spider each. The process was excitingly dangerous. I liked it though.

Within seconds of putting garden orb weaver 1 into Broodles tank, the orb had no chance in survival. It was immediately stunned and wrapped.
These pictures were taken perhaps, 10 seconds after putting garden orb weaver 1 in the tank.

Guess what? I just found out the tank was made in Malaysia! (as seen on image)
