It is near impossible to imagine distances measured in something in light years. Here's a simple perspective, the circumference of the earth is about 40,000 km. To travel a light year, you would have to go around the earth more than say 200 million times, and the nearest start to us is about 4 light years away. Seriously, can you really imagine that ?

Second of all, we as a species/civilisation don't really deserve to be noticed. Humanity is really a sorry excuse for an existence. I believe that if some other life did manage to discover us, they will probably manage a scoff at us before flying on by.

And yea, we are barely a twinkle in the night sky. Comforting, no ? =PAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6858523780813631243.post-29905665016538455622007-09-25T02:20:00.000+08:002007-09-25T02:20:00.000+08:00looking at the size of the Universe... I wont be surprise if there is Life out there...

Probably only then will humanity appreciate our only Home and a sense of unity by seeing each other as Earthlings rather than Chinese or Taiwanese, Palestinian or Israeli, Christian or Muslim... and closer to home bumi or non-bumis.

hmm... this comment nothing to do with Astronomy.. :pBlakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02057702255131758929noreply@blogger.com
