My BF and I

It must have been too long since I spent one whole day with my bestie.
Albeit the lack of time spent together, this one day only made it clearer that she is my one true good friend.

Venue: Sungai Wang

I admire her lead in life. Her character shines in ways that I could or have not achieve.
Perhaps that is what makes the two of us, yet... we can understand, respect, and love our differences combined.

We argue... a lot because our opinions, I would say at most times, cannot come to a mutual conclusion. However, that is not important.

It is how we get over ourselves and our own issue of being stubborn and accept the bloody fact that we will sometimes, NEVER come to "a" conclusion.

With love,
Elaine

Long Neck Karen Hill Tribe

This lady was the first to catch my attention during my adventure at the Long Neck Karen Hill Village in Chiang Dao.

She could speak minimum Chinese, enough to sell her tribe's handmade goods. For that, I bought a Turquoise Stone Necklace, which was almost as heavy as my camera!
Price? 100 Baht = RM10.

Hill Tribe Lady

The village is surrounded by natural flora and fauna, primitive resources and "machines" to prepare food for the family. Two little boys were following us through our walk around the hill.

This scene made me smile.

Enjoy~

Back in Malaysia

I miss my computer. vickyvacko (my brother) is kind enough to be asleep right now so I could use his pc. It's so true that Malaysia never sleeps. Neither do I. Not proud on my side, though.
Keiro's Day Out. He went out like a sheep and came home like a lamb. I had his hair shaved bald, so now he looks like a chinese crested dog.
Reason: Knots.

Before.

After.

----------------------------------

I have never seen Ayers Rock, nor did I know anything about it. I know it's must be some special rock. Just after hearing "We Can Be Heroes", I came across one of Australia's 'must-see' places - Ayer's Rock. Some rock it was. I didn't exactly had my foot on the special rock...but this view ain't all that bad.
The captain informed us inside the aeroplane.

Note: Pictures were all taken by Nokia N73

----------------------------------

Both Shirley and Joey, my two little cousins, are currently being fostered by my kind mother. It's great to see my mom busy once again, since she's lonely at home with me and Victor all too old for her to torture. Haha :) It's wonderful because I was too young to remember how my mom tortured me. Now it seems these two girls are loving it :) My mom reads to them almost every night. I bring them out :)

This little boy is Wesley :)

----------------------------------

It's been a while since I saw J-mie. The last time I saw her, I could still carry her with one arm. Look at her now! Grown up to be such a beautiful lady. She's almost one year old now, but not fully grown. Amazing baby girl of mine. I sincerely hope to come home for good just to be with her. She is currently very well taken care of by my Kakak. Behind J-mie is my best buddy, Kit.

Spiders Behaviour on Video! [Good Quality]

I saw this spider in the garden while I was watering the plants... He was hanging on his web. Seemed 'fainty' so I took my huntsman box out and caught it why it's 'fainty'.

Looks dead at first but when I brought it inside the house.....this is what I saw! The spider was shedding its skin.
PLEASE CHECK YOUR VOLUME BEFORE PLAYING THE VIDEO!

My huntsman's name is Onizuka. Yes it is named after Great Teacher Onizuka. Why? Because I was watching GTO when I found him.

I found him wondering around my house. At first I thought I could just leave him around this house because he could eat all the daddy long legs and insects. What made me kept him as pet in a box?

Story of "Onizuka"

One fine day I was doing my laundry. I asked Tim to help me with taking the basket from on top of the cupboard (because I'm short). I stood below where he lifted the basket and Onizuka jumped out of it and landed on my hands! I screamed and ran around the house...naturally. 10 seconds later, I calmed down and took a transparent box...and adopted Onizuka as my pet.

This video shows my huntsman spinning web around his leftover food (corpse of another spider). So far, I've had quite a few spiders as pets and Huntsman are very clean. Firstly because they don't live on webs.

Happy watching! They are amazing. Some may say "Eeewww!" but I grew up with them.

My long lost friend from Japan, 「松元華子」

Hanako Matsumoto
「松元華子」

I was the MC for the student exchange gathering night. As I walk down from the centerstage, a pretty girl walked up to me and handed this...

From then onwards, receiving snail mails from her was one the best part of my high school life.

[Click on image to view letter]

We were penpals for a few months until I was rushed to Melbourne on short notice. Mom was really happy when Trinity College, Melbourne University accepted me. I lost Hanako's letters. Thus, lost her address. Her letters were kept in a special box apart from my other letters. I could find the other letters... but hers was too well "preserved". Why I use the word Preserved?

7 years later -.-"

7 years of not being able to contact Hanako = miserable. I could only look at photos of sunsets she took for me with her favourite camera. I remember her telling me,

"Camera...Papa (points from nothing then to herself)"

I think she meant daddy gave her that camera or daddy's camera. One of the two. Never did find out.

Any language is pretty hard to understand if you have not learnt it. It wasn't hard to understand their body language, though. I did not understand anything that was spoken... but I could answer them "Yes", "No" or "Thank you" without having them explain what they said to me.

Memories...

Hanako stays almost an hour away from my hotel and yet her mom was so sweet to send her to my hotel just to be with me because it was my last night in Japan. Her mom sent us to a nearby beach. Either Hanako likes the beach, or she likes sunset, or she assumes I like sunset, or she knew I like sunset. I never find out. She was right, though. It was lovely. I know she's a girl...but to my very honest opinion, if I were a boy...she'll be my angel. The guys from my high school were drooling over her. I instantly became famous because of her. Just like the teen movies.

Then again, if I were to be a boy... she wouldn't walk up to me with that note in the first place. And if I walked up to her, she'd probably think I'm a perv from Malaysia.

She stayed until 12am and had to go home. Her mom picked her up from the hotel and she went home. I was to leave Japan at 7am the coming morning.

7am in the morning, she was at the lobby... in her school uniform. She did her best to explain to me that she begged her mom to send her here, skipping school... for someone she just met 2 days ago. 2 days!!! Nobody can beat that angel. I never had anyone (same gender) love me so much! I decided there and then, she won the award "Most Sincere Friend" I'll ever have.

That is why I took Japanese as a minor subject at Uni. I searched the internet for Hanako Matsumoto, but to no avail. I called my ex-boyfriend for his foster parents address in Fukuoka (because my ex's foster father was the mayor of that small town), but he couldn't find it. I sent letters to my foster mother (because she was the most traditional, richest lady in that town, I think), but she didn't reply. I think she moved. I panicked.
"What if Hanako moved?? She said she was gonna study English in the U.S! 7 years!!!"

I'm almost assured I've lost her forever. Then I came up with another plan. That is to travel to Fukuoka, do all I can to find her. But I forgot how the place looks like!!! >.<~~ During my last trip back to Malaysia...I went for Hanako's letter hunting again in my room.

I found the box of letters...

as if shining at me. I squealed. I was happy, but still worried about the fact that she might have moved. I wrote to her immediately. Canceled whatever plans I had for the night.

I waited for 3 days...I cried...

Elaine!!!!!!! I never forget you. I tried to send hotmail several times, but it always returned.and I couldn't send letters so long time. but now I am so happy to recieve your letter!Thank you so much.I miss you too You are the university student and still in Austra aren't you? your japanese so nice! I'm sorry my mail is so wired becouse I am so excited. anyway I'm telling you about myself. I have been living in Tokyo for 4 months.I'm working as a cabin attendant now. It's so tough but I like my job. I hope to see you soon. do you have any plans of travel to Japan?
ELAINE HA WATASHI NO DAIJI NA SINYU DESU. ITSUMADEMO NAKAYOKU SHITENE!!!(Japanese desu)

Love,
Hanako Matsumoto

WOW or YTL earns more money?!

I had a very queer conversation with my childhood friend this afternoon. It started off with me joking about him being a nerd and he didn't like it. I told him nerds are smart people, and others make fun of them because they are jealous. He insists to be called a 'Genius'. Tell you what Mr. WOW, "genius" invents. "Nerd" works smart. SO, you're a nerd.

Case Closed

Why WOW and YTL?

My friend's initial is OWW, which stands for Ong Wai Wah. I told him his surname should be WONG, which changes his initials to WWW, since he's a geek+ nerd, it'll be cool. He insists to have WOW instead, hoping that his Surname is in the middle - Wai Ong Wah (WOW).

Then my name would be ETL, which stands for Ee Tan Ling. BUT.....!

My name is Tan Yee Ling (TYL). If we swap the surname and middle name, I'll be Yee Tan Ling (YTL!!)

The childish argument begins.

"Muahahaha! YTL is bigger than WOW!!"

"Eh...WOW is the mother of all mother, okay? They earn MILLIONS!"

"Eh...halo! YTL has soooo many hotels all over the world, okay? They also earn MILLIONS! They won award as business leaders also, okay?"

"Okay! Let's judi (bet)!! Losers belanja (treat) japanese buffet at Jogoya when you return from Australia!"

*Ohhh nooooo! Micco hates gambling. It makes me lose confidence in this whole argument, but.... *

"OKAY!"

...because I don't mind treating my best buddy :)

Readers... can you help me with this? I need to win my Japanese buffet! haha! I'll invite you too if I win! LOL!

When your content does not match your title!

My original Title was : What do you do when your partner is sleeping?
Then I realize, I got side-tracked..!

Last year, a part-time colleague and I had a conversation about what do you do when your boyfriend is sleeping.

"I use marker pen, draw anything I can think of all over his body...haha!"

"Wha..? What was his reaction?"
"No arr..he wake up and didn't even realize it until he went for a shower. He just laughed at the picture-lor!"

*Aaawwww..how sweet*

NOTE : Micco did not attempt on attacking anyone. She was always afraid to offend because 'some' people are quite sensitive and tend to over-react. Haha! Not long after she became too bored in Adelaide, and saw an opportunity that she just had to...had to grab it! Not too fascinating, but yea...
Attack scheme :

*must have pictures!*

That very moment, I turned 5 years old again...and it felt good. Remember Legos, Play Doh... I don't know much about those because my childhood was more of er... Voltron, Transformers, He-man, McGuyver, Knight Rider, Air Wolf,ThunderCats and what not! Woot...typing that brings memories. Thanks to my brother, Victor, I'm glad I grew up having a little bit of MAN in me. It really helps... when you are in the midst of talking to a handsome geek.

More of my childhood (and some girly ones) :
  • Smurfs
  • My Little Pony
  • Babar
  • Beverly Hills 90210 (zzz..)
  • Carebears (This is something even guys like! I've done my surveys)
  • Popeye
  • Alvin & the Chipmunks
  • and more!

Traditional Easter Egg Hunt!

Never ever knew what Easter was about. When I was younger, I had an impression of Easter as egg painting celebration. LoL! This time around, I grew up... I ask questions.

1) Why do we have Easter holidays? Must be something important to have a holiday.
Answer : So it's Jesus who gave us a holiday.

2) What happened to Jesus?
Answer : Reborn

3) What in the world has Jesus reborn got to do with bunnies, eggs and chocolates??!
MiccO's Easter Holiday Activities!

Sunday morning (8th April), I was draggin my bum out of bed when Annabel came knocking on our doors saying, "wake up! The easter bunny came by! come on out and see the mess he made!"

As we walked through the hallway to the family hall, Roger enthusiastically said he managed to trick Easter bunny. "Easter bunny sneaked in to our house last night..but little did he know that I put powder at the main door where he enters and look! There are easter bunnies footprints all over! Hahaha! Now... Elaine and Marrisa, can you see easter bunnies footprints? Follow them! See what easter bunny left for you!

Apparently, Easter bunny gave us so many egg shaped chocolates ^^! Roger said, "We heard some noises down the hall this morning so we rushed out. Easter bunny panicked and ran out! The main door caught a little bit of his bunny fur! LoL!

All of us did were not given time to even brush our teeth!! *Psst* I couldn't resist my chockies I ate one before brushing my teeth that morning! *wInk*! I thought that was it but no! We had egg treasure hunt! I felt like a noob...but to be honest, it was really funny. I had a great time despite the puffy eyes and morning breath...

Home Sweet Home

I'd rather not talk about my farewell... Here are some pictures of my closest buddies, whom were always there with me and for me, through thick and thin. These pictures were taken at my new indoor garden, on the day I was meant to leave for Adelaide. So kind of them to drop by at my place just to bid farewell... Thank you!

Meanwhile, I thank my mom, for giving us a good home. Our home now is awesome.. The design, the art and the flow of 'chi', lures me out of my room. If you noticed, I was hardly in my room ever since! Thank you so much, Mom.. for all the effort. Dad is happy too :) I'm sorry I couldn't spend Chinese New Year at home this year. I miss my home so much...
1) Me and Kitboy at my new indoor heaven.
2) Me and Haylie (kitboy's pretty girlfriend) This picture turned out preeeety sweet :) I love the background. Doesn't feel like I'm in Malaysia.
3) My beloved Daddy :) Do we look alike? He's so cute :) always try to pull a straight face. He giggled after the picture was taken! LoL... Miss you Papa~
4) The flow of 'chi' in the middle of my home.. Soothing~
5) Me and Michelle Yap. *speechless* You are the best... you know it! Be strong :) We'll catch up few years later. I love that the most. We will never miss out even when we don't communicate for years. When we meet, we fight for our turn to talk :) Sweet.

Dear Brother

What's ahead of us? Kor, both of us may have different personalities.. you may have different opinions from that of mine... we may have fought over a lot of issues, conflicts... but deep down inside me, you were my only childhood. It's so difficult to type all these when my vision is blurred. There's so much inside me that seeks for an answer. Some of which are similar to all that you're feeling inside you. Again I ask... What's ahead of us? Am I doing the right thing? Is this for me? or for a future that is laid for me? Is this really me? What have I done?

Truth is, I'm afraid of fighting for a life of my own. By doing so, I must have hurt others. At one point, I wanted to try them impossible..I hurt my parents. It has been 4 years.. I finally understood why mom and dad are heartbroken. In the end, everyone is heartbroken. I achieved nothing... but I'm glad impossible became possible. Possible not for me. I hope he forgives me in the future. I've already prayed for his health...most importantly. He should be out there fighting for a life of his own. Kor, there's so much to say now..but I can only manage to type this..anymore will tear me down.

"I'm sorry I can't be there for you. Please understand. I can't choose between. I can't bring myself further than what I've done..because the further I go... the more I hurt my parents. Thank you for loving me.."

Kor, you're probably going through much more than I am. We stand strong okay? We can make it through. Don't only be there for me. Let me be there for you. It's easier for me to overcome my own fear of heartache by learning how to go through yours. Thats why people say,

"hui shuo bie ren, bu hui shuo ji zi"

which means, 'can advice others but never ourselves'. It is usually used as an insult. I think otherwise. For those who advise others, they are setting aside their problems to help others go through hardship..because they know how it feels when they are not ready or not strong enough to help themselves..

Thank you, kor... please take care of your health okay? While I'm away, mom and dad needs you. Hope these pictures bring back our childhood.

Condolence to the demise of my beloved Ye Ye

Dear Ye Ye,

"I was there with you last night... did you hear my prayers? Thank you for the family you've given to me...You will always be in our hearts. Tan family has now grown into 4 generations. You must be smiling from up above, watching all of us grow as you guide us."

"I have only one request. You hear my prayers. Daddy has given to me all in life that a girl could ask for. Hear daddy's prayers, Ye Ye...he may be tough on the surface... but Daddy is heartbroken inside. I'm not sure if anyone else in the family saw that. Most importantly, Ye Ye can understand."

"I still remember the last time I was here in Singapore, to visit you and Ah Ma. Lynette was with me. I spoke to Lynette yesterday and she told me Ah Ma still walks to your room to look for you in the middle of the night. Dont worry... Ah Ma is well taken care of... Talk to her heart to keep her from loneliness while Wu Shu and family stay by her side accompanying her."

"Bless our family, our business and our future. We will make you proud, Ye Ye."

"I will make you proud..."
